Class one truck driver

King Spud Potato Transport Ltd is looking for a full time, year round class one truck driver to join our team !

We require a driver who is able to do the following :

  • start early in the morning as needed
  • work long hours as needed
  • work some weekends
  • work along side our team and possess a positive attitude
  • be able to drive standard 13 speed trucks ( we have some autos) as well as back up tridem trailers
  • have 2 years of class one driving experience
  • be adaptable to a varying schedule
  • complete pre and post trip inspections daily read , write and speak english
  • be comfortable driving on the roads during winter
  • look after equipment

King Spud has a well kept fleet of over 30 semis and trailers. We are located just outside of Carberry Mb which is about 30 minutes from Brandon , Neepawa and Glenboro.

We offer flexible on and off schedules to meet drivers needs. We understand that family and home time is important and make our schedules to fit that in. This is a ” home every night ” style of trucking job.

We have an all inclusive contract with McCain Foods for Carberry and Portage factories which allows us to provide consistent and stable work 365 days a year.

We haul bulk potatoes in live bottom and van style trailers.

We offer a safe and friendly , small town work environment where everyone knows you by name, not by a number.

All drivers have designated units.

This job involves getting in and out of the truck lots during the day but not anything overly physical

All loads are local and within Manitoba within 160 km of Carberry .

We offer Canada life benefits after probationary period and pay hourly for all hours worked during the day.

Wages can be discussed in person and are based on experience and abilities.

Start date is approximately December 1. 2023
